What is a Noun?
A noun is the name of a person, place, animal, thing, or idea.
नाम म्हणजे व्यक्ती, वस्तू, स्थळ, प्राणी, भावना यांची नावे.

Types of Nouns
1) Proper Noun ( विशेष नाम)
A specific name of a person, place, or thing.

Always begins with a capital letter.
📍 Examples:
Persons – Sachin Tendulkar, Mahatma Gandhi
Places – Mumbai, Delhi, Pune
Things – Ganga River, Mount Everest

2) Common Noun (सामान्य नाम)
General name for a class of persons, places, or things.

Does not start with capital letter (unless at the beginning of a sentence).

Examples:
Person – boy, girl, teacher, doctor
Place – city, village, school, market
Thing – book, pen, table, mobile

3) Abstract Noun (भाववाचक नाम)
Names of feelings, ideas, qualities, or states which we cannot see or touch, but we can feel or think.

Examples:
Feelings – love, anger, joy, fear

Qualities – honesty, bravery, kindness, wisdom

States – childhood, friendship, freedom, sleep

4) Collective Noun (समूहवाचक नाम)
Names of a group of persons, animals, or things taken together.

Examples:

A class of students
A team of players
A flock of birds
A bunch of grapes
A herd of elephants
